South Fork trail restoration complete
Success is sweet. The saga of South Fork reached a new milestone in April when the crew of Wild Arizona completed the rebuilding of this classic Chiricahuan trail. Not since 2011 has it been passable to those who wanted to experience this path into our unique sky island wilderness. It’s now possible to reestablish connection to the southern extremes of the Crest Trail with the trail restored from its trailhead in Cave Creek Canyon to its upper terminus along Crest Trail 270C (near Finnicum and Sentinel Peaks).
More is to be done, but CRC wishes to mark this moment as a significant accomplishment that was made through the hard work and dedication of our leadership, partners, and membership.
