New signs in the forest
A group of four hiked the two miles to the Burro/South Fork junction carrying a new post and sign to mark what has been a confusing point in South Fork Canyon. Now that the Burro Trail has benefited from recent work from the Wild Arizona-led YCC group, it’s time for new signage. The creek has been high from the recent rains, and this group got wet, but it was a beautiful monsoon day.
The fabrication of new trail signs is part of CRC’s Stewardship priorities. We’re working with the Coronado National Forest in the Chiricahuas to replace damaged, missing or inaccurate trail signs. The CNF has purchased the equipment and materials for this to happen, and we are making the signs.
Over the coming months hikers will notice additional improvements happening out on the trails.
