Decision on the South Fork Day Use project

On October 11, 2022, the US Forest Service issued the below letter saying that they are “withdrawing the draft Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact and cancelling the South Fork Day Use project.”

This is a significant victory for all citizens concerned with preserving intact habitats. CRC applauds the USFS in reaching this decision and is grateful to Doug Ruppel for engaging in the process to listen to and consider community input. We also thank the many interested citizens who responded to this proposal.

CRC will continue to fulfill its role as a watchdog group monitoring the agencies managing our regional public lands. Together, we make a difference.
